Marriage is important in Japan.
This may be an outdated way of thinking.
There are many who enjoy a life of their own freedom without choosing a marriage.
But, in fact,evaluation of the society is not high,against people have no experience of marriage .
In Japan, the percentage of people that have not married even once,is 10% of women and 20% of men.
It does not mean that they not want to marriage.
Many of them want to get married,but it is not easy.
The reasons are various.
Reasons is,social advancement of women,economic reasons, and got past the marriageable age.
‘Non-marriage’ and ‘getting married later’ are in progress in Japan.
This is also the cause of the declining birth rate.
They do some action in order to get married.
They join the party, and go to marriage agency.
This positive action called "Konkatsu".
There is a custom of “お見合い Omiai” from the old days in Japan.
This is the matchmaking for men and women who want to get married by third party.
Omiai has flourished the past.
They did not miss the opportunity of marriage by Omiai.
However, there are drawbacks to Omiai.
It is,do not have time to understand the partner.
Marriage with a partner that is not desired.
And it need third party to mediate.
That is, marriage by Omiai has surface that is not freedom.
In recent years, freedom marriage was preferred than Omiai.
However, it means that they need to find a marriage partner on their own.
It may be one of the reasons why this is lower the marriage rate.
In recent Japanese, it is said to be many men not aggressive against women.
This is referred to as a 'herbivorous boys'.
They do not go out to hunt in search of prey.
That means, there is a need for women to become active.
It is even more so if a woman wants a child.
Women might be more aggressive for konkatsu.
Konkatsu is not only find a marriage partner.
That enhance the value of their own is also Konkatsu.
In the case of women, they do practice of cooking, and they go to the classroom of manners.
For men, they use care in appearance with a feeling of cleanliness.
Range of activities that the Japanese Konkatsu is wide.
Especially,in Japanese women want to marry foreign men often.
It is said that foreign men is a priority with respect to women as compared to Japanese men.
For Japanese women, foreign men gentlemanly and gentle will look very attractive .
