Shichigosan is the event in celebration of the growth of the child.

Shichigosa of three-year-old has meaning that the end of this custom.
Shichigosan of five-year-old is a target only boy.
In this age, the boy to wear a hakama.
Hakama is a formal wear of traditional male Japanese.
The events of the seven-year-old, only girls is intended for.
In this age, girls wear a obi(band) of the same size as the adult.
In the current Japanese, obi and hakama is not everyday wear.
These are ceremonial costume.
