There is a concept of multitudinous gods from ancient times in Japan.
八百万(Yaoyorozu) is eight million,it is example of that very large number.
If the number 8 is used in Japan,it means very large.
8 million in this case refers to the infinite.
Yaoyorozunokami means that God dwells in all things natural.
This is the concept of Shinto that is one of the religion of Japan.
In Japan, it has been thought for many years that all the things is God.
For example, like mountain gods, the god of rice fields, the god of toilet, kitchen and God, but also the rice grain...It's everything anyway!
Feeling to worship something that exists naturally, would have made such an idea.
There is also polytheism in the world, but that of Japan is overwhelmingly many.
It is also referred to as the God as a honorific title of a person who was recognized in a specific field or has ability that is significantly excelled.
I personally do not belong to a particular religion.
However,I think this idea is wonderful,that to having a feeling of respect and gratitude to all around me.
